At Climate Action London, our vision is to embolden all citizens, communities and institutions in London and Middlesex County to meet and exceed London's Climate Emergency Action Plan targets by 2030.

Mission

The mission of Climate Action London is to activate, educate and advocate Londoners to integrate London's Climate Emergency Action Plan in their homes, workplace, schools, stores, places of community service, recreation and worship. We are here to support your unique projects and efforts.

2021 Year in Review

1.    Created Website: ClimateActionLondon.ca

·         Hired a student (Nicole B) through a Canada Summer Jobs grant

·         1,400 visitors to date (1,000 unique visitors) and 3,300 page views

2.    Weekly Message (MailChimp Analytics)

·         Total subscribers increased 66% from 97 to 161

·         “Opened” rate increased from 54 to 82

·         “Total clicks” increased from 16 to 49

3.       Monthly Advocacy Calls

·         City of London: Blue Community, Truth Reconciliation Day, City Budget Items

·         Federal Government: COP 26, stop mining coal, climate targets, election issues

4.    Climate Conversations – 6 week online course with 6 participants

5.    Community Protests – Old growth forests (July) and RBC (Nov) divesting from fossil fuels

6.    Western OServes

·         Engaged 10 Western students to distribute 1,500 “Be a Climate Action DOER” flyers in the general university neighbourhood

·         Resulted in highest weekly website views Sept 5-11 at 133

7.    Collaboration: Online Native Plant Sale:

·         SoHo Pollinator Garden

·         3,000+ native plants sold

·         $1,240.50 revenue generated

·         Collaboration with Nature London, ReForest London, TTLT, Pollinator Pathways

8.    Collaboration: LEN

·         Build back better townhall

·         Federal election debate

9.    Greening Sacred Spaces London Chapter (GSS)

·         Fall Equinox (launch) event: Victoria Park – 60 attendees

·         Winter Solstice event: online – 24 attendees (had 50 (max) registered for in person)

·         119 MailChimp subscribers: 44.5% open rate

·         2 Green teams (Calvary and FSA)

·         Monthly zoom calls – About GSS (Oct) and Urban Gardening with Siloam (Nov)

10.  Collaboration:  Western Chemistry Students

·         3rd year students in the "Science in the Community " course, created a report on the London CEAP and Electrifying London Transit Buses

11.  Participation in ReImagine Holiday Market (Nov/Dec)

·         750+ attendees, 8 new weekly MailChimp subscribers during this period

·         Gave away 200+ native flower seed packets, sold 9 London Transit smartcards

·         Collaboration with Pollinator Pathways Project

9. Bank account (held at FSA)  $4,941.22

·         $429.06 remaining from Embracing the Spirit grant

·         $4,247.66 in donations received

·         $1,240.50 revenue generated from plant sale
