Intent

Promote reuse and repurposing of building materials and encourage waste diversion to reduce building materials going to landfill.

Requirements

Develop a Waste Management Plan that diverts at least 50% of the total construction and demolition material from the landfill (Certified by a third party).

To promote waste reduction and diversion of materials from landfills. This can be a cost-effective method for reducing contributions to landfills and GHG.

Requirements

Provide a waste sorting system for garbage, recycling, and organics. If a building has 31 units or more than 5 storeys, provide three separate chutes on all floors.
