Buy online, Pick up in person in May
Purchase your plants online. For the best selection, buy soon after the sale opens in March.
Plants will be available for pick up at Westminster Ponds Environmental Centre (ReForest London) on Saturday May 23, 2026 (944 Western Counties Road - behind Parkwood Hospital) from 9am - 1pm
If you arrive on the pick up day at 9am, be prepared to wait, it is a popular time and we can only process so many orders at a time. (We don’t “open the doors” until 9am as the volunteers need time to organize the plants and themselves). Purchasing in advance means that you don’t need to “be there first”, so consider coming later in the morning when you can just “walk up and get served”.
Plants are shipped by the wholesaler in flats of 28 as plugs. You will receive your plant as a plug, without a pot.
Please bring a container or a box to pick up your plants. Popular containers are rubbermaid or cardboard boxes, or large pots. The plants come as plugs, so they will be bare earth.
When you arrive on the pick up day, check in at the welcome desk and we will have your pick up sheet (listing your plant purchases) ready. You take you pick up sheet along a lineup of tables with plants organized alphabetically. Volunteers will reference your pick up sheet and bring you each of your plants. For example, if you have purchased Scarlett Bee Balm, you would go to the table with the sign for “plants from P-T”. Volunteers will retrieve the correct number of plants and then cross off that plant as “received” on your pick up sheet.
Because the wholesaler ships in flats of 28, we will have some surplus stock available for purchase on the day of the sale. Plants that are sold on the sale day are the same price as online. Note: if something is sold out on the website, there won’t be any surplus stock on the day of the sale. If you want something, don’t wait, buy early.
No garden? No problem? If you want to help spread native plants throughout the city we offer a “Donation” category. Each year we partner with a school in the London area that is planting a garden. Donations are not for any specific plant - the partnering school can choose from the available “surplus” plants before they are offered for purchase on the pick up day to ensure they get the right plants for their garden needs.
Fine Print
Proceeds from the sale are split evenly between the partnering organizations: ReForest London, Nature London, Pollinator Pathways, Climate Action London and the London Environmental Network.
Plants left over after the sale are donated to Pollinator Pathways Project for pollinator projects throughout the city.
Sometimes, we don’t receive the full order of plants because of a problem at the nursery. Sometimes we know in advance if there is a germination problem with a certain plant, sometimes (rarely) we find out when the plants are delivered. If we can’t fulfill your order, we will offer another plant or a refund (your choice).
We strive to ensure that everyone gets the correct plants, but volunteers sometimes make mistakes. If you are unhappy with your purchase, let us know and we will try to make it right.
If you cannot make the pick up date, you can ask a friend. It is helpful if you let us know in advance, but we work on the honour system and will trust people when they indicate who they are here to pick up from (we don’t check ID). Plants not picked up on the sale day will be donated to Pollinator Pathways Project.
